The Knitting Loft – Yarn Shop & Kniting Classes

Here at The Knitting Loft it's all about supporting the local fiber arts community. We offer a cozy place where knitters and crocheters can visit, shop, learn, and create great projects.

This Fox 5 segment highlights the owner, Cheryl Steplight, talking about why she opened the shop. Plus, it includes a few shots of some of our knitters working on projects here at The Knitting Loft. The segment also features Solitude Wool, a Virginia farm that creates yarn made from wool sourced from small sheep farms in the Chesapeake Bay Region. We carry some of their yarns, and it's great because it allows us to source some of our yarns locally, a more sustainable practice.

We offer classes for everyone from beginners to experienced knitters. We even offer a class where parents can learn with their children.
